2014 Mitsubishi Lancer Review

The Mitsubishi Lancer will not be replaced till next year. The automaker states that this car is going to be revealed in 2014 model. It is a big deal for Mitsubishi since the 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer will have a significant change. It is included in Mitsubishi’s Australian lineup next year with quite different appearance. There is no clear information and the automaker doesn’t want to talk more about this new model. It is only noticed that the body will be smaller rather than the current model.

In fact, it is quite brave for Mitsubishi to make this new Lancer in small body style. It has been noticed that this similar cars in its segment are manufactured in large body. The automaker doesn’t want to show the reason beyond this weird decision. There must be particular strategy either marketing or potential buyers of this new Lancer in future. Osamu Masuko as Mitsubishi Motors Corporation President states that the brand purposely takes a different approach for this car. He adds that this is going to be totally a new car in a smaller size.

On the other side, this car will take the advantages of this condition. Since the body is smaller, the weight is reduced at the same time. It will be a pro of this car. Compared to other vehicles in its segment, this car is better in this case. At least, the automaker can make the pro as the most essential element to offer in the tighter market competition. Recently, the automotive lovers want to have lightweight car. Regardless handling and powertrain, the car with lightweight body is easy to maneuver. Besides, the driver will no need to work hard to handle even in high speed.

For this car, the automaker focuses more on the interior design. Indeed, it is such a difficult homework for designers to maximize the space of this small body. They have to make sure that this car will be a compact sedan which is quite competitive in its class. As the result, they apply new efficient packaging for interior. It is hard to believe that this car will be a strong rival of the Hyundai Elantra, Ford Focus, and Chevrolet Cruze.

Unfortunately, it cannot be known whether this car uses diesel or turbocharged. Hopefully, this new Lancer is offered with the most powerful engine for sedan. It has to be understood that this car will enter competition in the North American Market.
