The automaker states that this car will be ready to release officially to the public next three years. It will be the second generation of GLK. This car is built based on the MRA platform. MRA stands for Mercedes Rear Wheel Architecture. Actually, it is a new platform belonging to Mercedes Benz. Since this car will be manufactured based on this platform, it is means that this car will be one of the first car utilized with this upcoming MRA platform. Actually, this platform has been designed for luxury brand’s future rear-wheel-drive models. Therefore, this car must be special vehicle for Mercedes Benz in next three years.
However, this car will not be a new GLK coupe. There is a rumor in which this car will have a new nomenclature. Even though the information is not clear, it has been reported that this car will have the name of “GLC”. It stands for “Good Little Car”. For those who have been Mazda lovers, this name might be familiar. At the past, there is Mazda GLC which had come before Mazda3.
The automaker will offer this car with a wide range of diesel and gasoline engines. The automaker realizes that the potential buyers differ. The wide range of engines is offered to fulfill the customers’ desire about car in coupe segment. A twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 will be one of the engines for this car. Unfortunately, engines and desired output of this car have not been released yet.
This new information in this year might be different when this car is released in 2016. It is due to the fact that development program is in progress. Change could be possible since the demand from the automotive lovers is different from time to time. However, there is one thing that will not be changed. Like other vehicles made of Mercedes Benz, this car will be entered in the luxury vehicle market. This car will be ready to challenge its rival like the Range Rover Evoque with sleeker lines.
