2013 Nissan GT-R: Stylish yet Less significant Engine Improvement

Even though there is no significant improvement for performance, Nissan as the Japanese automaker seems to declare that the automaker always moves on. The 2013 Nissan GT-R is the proof. When the first version of the Nissan GT-R was revealed at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2007, it was powered by a 473-hp engine. The 2012 model gets a 530-hp engine and now the new Nissan GT-R has engines with 12 horsepower more than the previous model.

When this little improvement in its performance is considered as failure, it is not absolutely true. The automotive lovers especially those who want to have this car have to know that the impressive development is in the torque. The engine is able to produce 463 lb-ft of torque at 3,200 till 5,800 rpm. It is a 3.8-liter V6 engine which is applied under the hood.

Having been chosen as a heart of this new Nissan GT-R, this engine can pump out 545 horsepower. The power is delivered to all wheels through a six-speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission. The automaker might be doubt about the performance of this car due to the fact that this car has such a bulky body size. It is surprising when it is known that this car reaches 60 mph in 3.1 seconds.

Premium as one of trim level of this car looks quite beautiful with LED running light applied in the front side. However, the appearance of the Black Edition is more attractive rather than the previous trim since it is featured with black wheels and a carbon-fiber rear wing. The latter trim level will extremely make black lovers open their eyes wide. It looks stylish with black and red interior completed with leather Recaro seats. “Perfect” is correct word to represent it.

The front seats have been provided with faux-suede inserts in order to make sure that the occupants will not be thrown during high-G maneuver. Several paramaters are shown in the navigation screen like g-force during cornering, great position, steering input, and also lap times. However, the rear seats seem to be designed for child-size passengers only. The rear seats are small and quite difficult for adult to access.

Those who have their heart set on having this car have to prepare their budget approximately $96,820 for Premium trim and $106,320 for the Black Edition. However, there is good news when the automaker also announces that the Special Paint-Super Silver is offered as optional by adding $3,000 to the car’s price.
